Tonight is the Night

It's been many hours of work, but it's finally here! The PINE WOOD DERBY! First of all I have to tell you that I have never met an 8 year old boy more excited to turn 8 and become a Cub Scout. He absolutely loves going to scouts and putting in all the work and of course having fun. When they passed out those little boxes containing what would soon turn into the "Speed Racer", I could see the excitement beaming on his face. He has truly enjoyed this process and of course the night he will never forget!

Before the races began!
The Track
Let the races begin (Jayden is on the left)
He had a blast. He came in 2nd place, but it was super close. He loved every minute of it and of course winning each race.
1st and 2nd place winners

Way to go Jayden, we are proud of your hard work, OK, yours too Pop pop!! He couldn't have done it without you!

Way to go Jayden! I just went to my very first Pinewood Derby last week and it was so fun to watch the boys race their cars. I had no idea it was so big. Tucker can't wait to be 8!!!

I love the pinewood derby! When my son did it last year he went to work with Brook for the day for some father/son bonding. It turned out that all of the guys at work spent the ENTIRE day working on this car with them. How quickly men turn back into little boys:)
